CANCELLED - 2017 Hypertension Guidelines: What's New?

This session focuses on the most significant changes in the hypertension guideliesn following the recent update in November of 2017. Pharmacists participant in this program will engage in lively discussion surrounding the new updates and how they apply to different patient scenarios.
 
 

 
This session is green! Printed handouts will not be available for this CPE activity. Handouts will be made available online to all registered paid participants via this website. To view them, make sure you are logged in. Handouts can be found under the "Course Materials" heading, typically 1-2 days in advance of the program.
 

 
REFUND POLICY
A partial refund of $15 is available for cancellations received prior to March 15. Cancellations received March 15 or later will not be eligible for a refund. Cancellations may be sent via email to Erin.Morris@stlcop.edu.

 
EVENT CANCELLATION POLICY
If this event should be cancelled by St. Louis College of Pharmacy, all registered participants will be contacted via email and given a 100% refund.

Requirements for CE Credit

To receive CPE credit, participants are required to submit an online evaluation. Evaluations will be available for 30 days and will require the use of an access code, which will be given verbally at the end of the session. Upon submission, an automatic report containing the NABP e-Profile ID and date of birth from the participant's profile will be submitted to CPE Monitor. Please allow up to 48 hours for credit to be reflected in NABP's portal.

  • Define hypertension on the basis of the current recommendations.
  • Assess hypertension treatment recommendations in the current guidelines based on BP thresholds.
  • Identify blood pressure goals for comorbid conditions and special patient groups.

Brief Bio : Dr. Carmen Smith is currently an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. In addition, she serves as a the residency program director for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Mercy Hospital St. Louis where she practices as a clinical pharmacist in Internal and Family Medicine. Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.) from the University of Tennessee. Subsequently, she completed a PGY1 Pharamcy Residency at Methodist University in Memphis, TN and a PGY2 Internal Medicine Residency at West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She is a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist (BCPS).
