Join Dr. Suzanne G. Bollmeier as she presents A Brief Update on the 2020 COPD Guidelines, which addresses the current Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) standards. In this activity, you will learn how to properly stage patients with COPD based on their pulmonary function test results, how to assign a risk category (A,B,C,D) based on symptoms and exacerbation history, as well as familiarize yourself with the new dyspnea and exacerbation follow-up management pathways for treating patients with COPD.

Requirements for CE Credit

 
To successfully complete this program, participants must:
 
          1. Register for this program (note: only credit card payments are accepted for this program).
          2. Log in and navigate to this event page.
          3. Watch the video. Click the + button beside the module to expand - the video will be embedded below. The handout is below the video.   
          4. Complete the test. Participants must pass with at least a 60%.
          5. Complete the evaluation.
 
As soon as the evaluation is completed a report will be automatically generated using the NABP ePID and DOB stored in the participant's profile. Please ensure your NABP ePID and DOB are correct in your profile before claiming credit.  
 
As required by ACPE, St. Louis College of Pharmacy reports all pharmacy CE credit through CPE Monitor. While a statement of participation may be downloaded from our website, the credit must be reported to CPE Monitor in order to satisfy NABP and state board requirements. Participants are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of credit reporting by checking their NABP profiles online. Please allow up to 48 hours from submission of credit for reflection in your NABP profile, as CPE monitor syncs. If a participant notices any errors or omissions, they are encouraged to contact our office as soon as possible. Consistent with ACPE's policy, St. Louis College of Pharmacy is unable to award or correct any CE credit if the expiration date for an online activity is in the past.

  • Identify stages of COPD using GOLD grade and risk stratification.
  • Describe recommendations for escalation of drug therapy in patients with COPD experiencing either worsening dyspnea or frequent exacerbations.
